Text (Handwritten):

Hello.

My name is Elvis Shockley. I’m a 51 year old white- male currently incarcerated in the Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice Institutional Division for Driving while Intoxicated. This offense I am guilty of and have long ago accepted the consequences of my behavior. In fact, I am grateful in ways that God saw fit to allow me this time to help me overcome my problems with alcohol and more importantly, gain a relationship with Him! This has allowed me to regain a relationship with my own family, and I am very, very optimistic about the future!

You contacted a friend of mine, Caset Jeffes, and he shared your letter he received in response to his web add for a pen-pal. I was intrigued to hear what you had to say about your concerns for individuals like Casey and myself and am stepping out in faith that you will accept this letter as a symbol of my appreciation for your efforts!

Feel free to use this letter in any way you wish! I would very much welcome any correspondence, ad would love to communicate with individuals about faith, relationships, world affairs, etc. I’m open-minded and love to learn new ideas. On the back side of this letter I will put my personal information and again, I would like to thank you for putting into action the obvious concerns you have for individuals who find themselves in the grip of consequence. Whether in prison, or out, I think we all have to atone for our behavior in some way, and God willing we will start to learn from other human beings experiences, so one does not go through the same themselves!

May God bless you and yours always.

With Respect,

Elvis Shockley
